Electronic junkyards
An old-school computer main frame is 20,000 square feet in volume. Computers in 1950s-60s were a treasure trove due to their gold connectors, silver wire insets, copper circuit boards, and most profitably, the circuit chips.
Aviation bone yard

Orville and Wilbur Wright may have been the first aviation salvagers – often using parts of one prototype to the other

1940 – 1945 nearly 300,000 planes flew out of homeland factories

Postwar – planes found work in civilian world for converted trainers and crop dusters well into 1970s
